1972 Ford Maverick stalling problems

I have a 1972 ford maverick and it will stall out at the most random times. When i push on the gas to much with not enough speed. When its rainy out side or about 40 degrees, even when i let it warm up for 5 to 10 minutes. What could be the cause of this. I do not know much about cars, and this is my first one.
