Removing and replacing keyed ignition in 1978 Ford Ltd

I am trying to remove and replace the keyed ignition in the steering column of my 1978 Ford Ltd 2 door coupe with 122,000 miles with the 351 Windsor v8..How do I get it out and put the new one back in thanx....Jasin

i used to just use a slide hammer and screw it into the switch and then put the new one in. Make sure to line it up and turn the key to start for it to lock in place...
