1966 Ford Galaxie Starting Problem

The car is currenty undergoing major restoration and during this project I had to remove the key ignition switch from the metal dash. Prior to this the car started from the ignition switch without a problem, now that the switch is just hanging from the wiring it will not start the car at all. Turning the key brings no result, not even a click. You can start the car by jumping across the starter relay. All the wires are connected to the ignition switch! Any ideas?

Turn the key On and check for power on the coil positive terminal not there check resistance wire back to the ignition switch and the ignition switch input power make sure all connections are good

It appears that there is no power coming from the switch. I guess its possible that by simply removing the bezel and letting the switch hang loose it broke a circuit...

Does the switch need to be grounded?

There's is no ground on the switch it has a power input and when key is turn to On or accessory it transfer power from there to different electrical components

Thanks for your input which reinforces what I thought. Guess its back to tracing the feed circuit which I would think comes from the hot side of the starter relay.
