Warranty problem
2006 Ford Fusion 4 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic

I took car into dealer that I purchased from, for a free inspection and oil change. I had car for 2 years, no problems loved it. Before I got 10 miles down the road, I began to hear a pinwheel sound from the engine. No other problems. Took it back to dealer/mechanic says its the lifters, but it can't be covered by the warranty because I was unable to prove that I was getting regular oil changes. I asked for an estimate, 2 hours later, they said they were taking the engine apart to give me an estimate. I was upset because I did not realize that they were going to do that. They said that I could pickup the car it was not apart. I drove it to another Ford dealer that I had had better luck with. They agreed with the first dealer stating it would cost over $4000. But said they would try a flush first $400. It may work. It didn't. I picked up the car, the mechanic drove the car to the front for me to pickup, but I had a tow deliver it to my friends home to try many frequent oil changes suggested by a few mechanics. When I had it towed to my friends he would not be able to change it for a few days. So I drove it to a drive thru oil change business. Long story short, THERE WAS NO OIL IN THE ENGINE. The mechanics drove my car without oil, they let me take the car without oil and did not tell me it had no oil. The mechanic at the drive thru put oil in my car. This car had never over heated, never smoked, just a little noice NO KNOCK. Never used oil. Ran great. Smoke billowed out of the back about 3 miles down the road, the engine died right there. And the indicators/lights never showed the engine hot. What would you do about this if this were you?
