2001 ford focus, 4 cyclinder, with 112,000 miles started to hesitate and jerk while going down the road. The yellow engine light came on. the mechanic gave it a complete tune up, that seemed to clear it uo for about a day. Again the yellow engine light came on again, I took it back and he replaced everything he put on it. Again that was good for about two weeks, that it came back on again, and started to hesitate and jerk, and lose power going up a hill. I'ts an automatic and I have a overdrive bypass button on the shifter that I turn off going up a hill and that stops for stuttering for the time being. But stopped at a stop light and starting to go again it hesitates and going down the raod it will jerk/stutter often. I'm thinking it might be a clogged catalytic converter and that needs to be replaced, any thoughts on that.
