If I put the key in the ignition it won't turn even the slightest. The steering wheel is locked and the brake pedal won't push down. I know that I have to be able to turn the key to get these other things to fix I just don't know why the key won't turn. We have tried our second key and spray lube. Please if anyone can help it would be great.

It’s a very common problem with focus. If you do a quick search online you’ll find many websites about it and how you can get the key to turn if you hit on it with a screw driver/small hammer. If I were you I wouldn’t take the car to a Ford dealer because they’ll just replace the ignition switch with the same type of switch that will inevitably lock again at some point. I would call a locksmith in your area about it. It’ll be cheaper and they’ll do a more permanent fix.

Thank you so much for your help. We did call a locksmith and he was a lot more help then the Ford Dealer was who never even returned our call. I had called before I saw your post. One would think the dealer would be more help, but just like always the little mom and pop shops around town know more. Thank you again for your help.

Hello,

No problem, I’m glad you got it figured out. You’re right, it’s a shame the dealer is no help. It’s also a shame Ford isn’t doing anything about these ignition switches that don’t work well.
