I am tired of seeing the door ajar light on because I failed to SLAM the trunk. What wil it take to disable the switch for the trunk only. I see where the wires go into the trunk lid.

The lid has to be slammed for a reason. You do not want to partially close the lid due to potential for water leaks.
A minor adjustment of the latch/lock may do away with you problem.
