Brakes problem
1993 Ford F-600 Two Wheel Drive Manual 140000 miles

I have a 1993 Ford F-600 with an Eaton 2 sp rearend. It has hyd parking brake system, nothing but $$$ and PITA. Question is, can I delete system with a proportionate sized block(?)[img:72188e0fcc]http://www.2carpros.com/forum/automotive_pictures/524039_f6001_2.jpg[/img:72188e0fcc] or replace parking brake wheel cylinder with another regular brake wheel cylinder? Cannot afford another axle. Hope you can help. Miss the brake drum behind the tranny. Brian

I am no sure if the wheel cyl. will interchange. But with those old Bosch systems, you are right it can get expensive fast. If you have the time you would be money ahead to get a manual/ cable set up, from a bone yard. Just remember to get everything, including the trans yoke.

I would like to go to the manual/cable parking brake system. But like I stated earlier how do I delete the existing hydraulic parking brake system? Is it possible to remove p/brake system and replace with wheel cylinder and have dual wheel cylinders per backing plate to get even wear on shoes?

sorry ,I was making your truck older than it was.

You likely have a lucas girling system. Whereas you have the adj cyl. or expander on the front side and a "park Cyl to the rear? How wide are the shoes 5,6, or 7"

euclid number
E-9422x...5 inch
E-9423x ...6 "
E-9424x....6 or 7"
E-9425x....7"

also need jumper line E-4058 and E- 4059 OR ford number sp7862 and sp7861


you will have to replace the expander with a brake cyl depending on shoe and bore size.

E-5409 5 " shoe with 1 5/8 bore (left)
E-5410 (right)

E-5407 6-7" shoe with 1 3/4 bore (left)

E-5408 (right)

These are all Euclid/arvin meritor numbers they should be easily crossed by you local heavy truck parts house. There are many images available on the web to reference and compare to the numbers I have given you.
