1996 Ford F350 Battery

Get the battery load tested if it cannot hold 9.6 volts in 10secs its no good it needs replacement same goes for the alternator check its output voltages should be 13.5 to 15.5 volts not in this range its no good.

First of all, the battery is new....have a debate here on the following question.
Might get something good out of it :)

Is it true that when the battery is discharged(in any amount from cranking on it. Already know we need plugs and wires) That the alternator holds whats left in the battery or does it completly charge it back up, or charge it up in any amount that you would not have to put it on a charger.
Is the alternators job, is to put juice back into the battery or is it just to hold the charge that is in the battery?

The alternator has nothing to do holding a charge that's the battery's job. If the battery can hold a charge the alternator will constantly recondition the battery state of charge. If you have to put on a charger everytime to start it then something is wrong either the battery new or old or the alternator is defective-

Or it has a short circuit somewhere in the electrical that's eating up the battery overnite called Parastic Draw
