Ford F250 Diesel Wheel Hub - extra washers

I had to replace the front right wheel hub because of a bad bearing. I tried to use a hub remover before realizing it was held on by four bolts. Now that I have the new hub on only one of the original three washers will fit. What are the purpose of these washers and is it ok to only have one.

the washers have a dual perpose, they hold the bolt so it does not dig into the metal making it harder to remove, they are round and give a even pressure to the area. the correct tightness can be obtained compared to the bolt itself. You can get along with one for a limited amount of time but I would suggest that you gen new washers and put them on.

The washers I am referring to are inside the hub and are held in place by a key ring.

could you give me the year, and engine number of the truck so i can check it out what washers you are talking about?

It is a Ford F250 Diesel engine. It looks like the knuckle that the hub connects to may be cracked. How hard is that to fix? How do you remove the axel?
