i bought this car and it has the orginal 302 block in it, it has msd digital 6 ignition box, msd distributor, ngk spark plugs, ford racing plug wires, when i bought the car the dude said that he just got a racing computer chip put in it, and that the timing had to be adjusted. well i didn't want to mess things up so i just didn't adjust the timing, i was gonna take it to the shop but i never got around to it, about 300 miles ago i replaced the clutch, well before i replaced the clutch the engine wasn't working right. what i mean by this is that when i start it sometimes it idles around 1000 rpms, maybe a little lower. but when i press the gas the rpms doesn't shoot up like it should. there is some hesitation and sounds like it is bogging out.this only happens when i crank it up for the first time in a while(since it ain't my daily driver)but after it clears itself out the first time i can turn the car off and turn it back on and it isn't doing the boggin thing again.then when i am going down the road, it sounds like it is boggin out and the car ain't going fast for the rpms it is pushing. when it is boggin out i can keep it at 2500 rpms, and then it acts like it clears itself our and the rpms stay the same but the car speeds up. it didnt happen much before i got the new clutch but now that i got a new clutch it does it everytime. i finally adjusted the timing my self thinking it was it , but it is still doing it. I asked a friend of the family's ( he races mustangs at the local drag strip) and he said it feels like the clutch ain't wanting to disengage.he said that he thinks it is the clutch cabel being streched out since i just got a new racing clutch. i understand that it may be the problem but why would the car do it when i first crank it up and it isn't even in gear. i would like to know what you beleive the problem is.
