2003 Ford F250 6.0 diesel

This may sound way out but it happened to us at the shop and I figured will share it with you hope it ll help
had same symptoms or similar after two days checking this doing that
oil was the problem
so we changed the oil and filter
used recommended oil and the correct oil filter and truck ran like a top

Changed the oil & filter and still performs poorly after engine gets hot. Seems to be starving for fuel and/or air.

I believe that those have variable vein turbos, if so they can experience power issues due to coking hanging up the veins in the turbo.This doesnt always set a check engine light or code.Also at that mileage the Mass Airflow Meter may need either cleaning or replacing, due to being out of range a little from contaminents, this also wont set a light or code

I wouldnt think turbo to be a cause of that one but definetely not a subject to be overlooked.

i agree with jack 100% on checking out the MAF sensor.

when did you notice this issue to start?

This very ting has happened to me 3 times on my 04 6.0. It acts like it has no power and gives you the feeling that it's not getting fuel. The first two times was about 13.000 miles apart and both times it was the inner cooler. The third time it was the EGR. The bolts were loose and it was sucking air into the inner cooler. Ford has had allot of problems with the inner cooler on these motors and some guys are putting in by pass kits.
