2001 Ford F250 Replacing engine oil pan

When the oil pan is rusted through, patching might not last. When one part is repaired, another might start leaking in no time.

The labor time is listed at 5.4 + another 1.2 hour if equipped with A/C.

Oil pan is listed at $106.32.

The price of $1500 is rather high and you should get a second opinion. I believe this is a dealer part and after market might be difficult to find. Alternative is to get one from the junkyard.

In another section someone else with the same problem was told it would take about 11 hours of repair because the engine had to be removed or at least lifted.
What is the book time for this job?

For Diesel engines that would take 11 hours but for the V8 the time is as provided.

In your section about describing the vehicle, you nee to have a section asking for more info on the engine rather than just a generic one. I do have a 7.3l diesel.
So is the quote still high? Could I expect a lower price from a dealer?

You are correct about the lack of information for the engines and also transmission and a few others. We are in the midst of upgrading the system and hopefully the new system would have all those included.

For diesel engines, the book time is 11.7 hours and depending on the labor rate at your place, as prices differs region to region. If rate is $100 or maybe more, then the quote is according to market
