I had my truck shoot the spark plug out of the #1 cylinder 1) I am wondering what could have caused this? 2) I am trying to make the repair with out removing the head while I understand this is risky because retapping and using a rethread kit can cause metal shaving to fall into the cylinder I believe if I can get it to the exhaust stroke i can blow most of them out with an air compressor and I also have a vacuum i can use to try and suck anything else out. I was just looking for any other suggestions or solutions.

Hi there,

This is usually caused by a loose spark plug, doing the re coil in place is risky, if it was mine i would be pulling the head, best to be safe and sure of no chance of further damage to the engine.
