Transmission problem
1997 Ford F250 V8 Four Wheel Drive Automatic 123k miles
This truck has been everywhere, no answers. The default for this vehicle is to be in overdrive when the vehicle starts, sometimes it is sometimes not. You can be driving down the hwy @65 mph and the overdrive turns off, it may stay off or it may come back on who knows. There are 0 codes, the o/d switch has been replaced as well as the shifter that it is attached to. Tranny fluid does not smell bad and looks brand new. It has been to a tranny shop and hooked up to the computer and they see no cause transmission wise for this condition. The transmission was rebuild approx 6k miles ago. It is out of warranty because of the number of months. This vehicle was used for a trip then parked for 2-3 mos. when tried to start battery was dead. It has had this Problem ever since.
