1994 7.3 diesel f250

get a shallow socket and a long enough extension to reach the bolt. make sure the battery is disconnected.

i bought a starter but i was having trouble gettin it in the socket i tried pushing and wedging for an hour i coudlnt get it in when i took it back i looked at the drive where the gears are and the new one had big thick washers my orignal one didnt
so know i have no starter what do i do

return it to where you purchased it and make sure it is for sure the right one if not ask them if the washers can be removed or machined down.

no they cant i have to find another is there any trick to getting it in

not that i know of you may have to go and buy a starter from the ford garage
