Hi, A friend is willing to give me an 1988 f250 diesel with a dump bed for free but the trans pops out of reverse when clutch is engaged. Priior repair orders state the trans was out of vehicle twice, once for clutch and other time for shifter adjustment? I'm not sure what type of trans but I do know it is a toploader 5 speed. My question is can these trans' or shift levers be adjusted or would I be better off with a junkyard unit or rebuild??? Thanks in advance for your expertise?
