Starter Relay/Solenoid No Start When Hot

93' F-150, 5.0l,120k

I have replaced the starter relay on the fender and spliced a new lead to the starter solenoid. I have had to do this (splicing the solenoid lead) half a dozen times in the three years I've owned the truck, for reasons I can't determine. Now it starts fine when cold but will not engage the starter when it's hot. What am I missing? Thanks.

Disconnect the solenoid wire, now get a buddy to turn ignition key to Start position check for voltage at the lead-put that wire to the S terminal on the solenoid the other one on I terminal.

No power take it back thru the neutral safety switch and to the ignition switch

Make sure the relay is grounded properly.

Might also want to add a heat shield for the starter if you dont already have one there.
