Popping Sound

2004 Ford F150 5.4 66,000 miles

When I brake or when the truck is put in reverse I hear a popping sound from underneath the front of the truck. I feel resistance when the truck is put in reverse or when trying to push the backwards when the truck is in nuetral. Any suggestions on what is causing this.

I've had this happen before on mine. Check your U-Joints. Try twisting each end of the drive shaft at the joint for play. These are pre-greased from the factory, but can dry out in time .You might need to grease the fittings. Hope this helps.
