I have recently changed the cat in my 1996 F150, 4.9L truck. 130,000kms
The direct replacement cat was $1500 from the dealer, so I went with an after market (1 cat instead of 2).
When the cat was installed the o2 sensor did not reach, so Midas created a new location at the same spot as the original. The new Cat's bung and the additional bung, added by midas, are both before the cat.
I replaced the Bank 2 o2 senor and left the wire long just in case.
I still have the same error code.
Should the O2 senor be located after the cat?
