the fan clutch sounds like a big roar

To check the fan clutch-with the engine off try to turn the fan by hand if it turns easy there is no problem with it, but if it is hard to turn or won't turn at all then you need a new fan clutch Here is how you can change it out

I have a Chevrolet Z71 and the truck listed above and both squeak in the cold and sound identical to each other. The Chevrolet I have replace everything but the clutch fan on the water pump. My question is, could the clutch fan be making this noise?

on a trip, two of the four bolts holding the fan blade came loose and fell off and the two remaining bolts broke off, the bolt studs remain in the water pump assembly. How do I remove the fan to get to the water pump assembly to remove the broken studs and replace the fan bolts.

I attached the procedure for you to remove the fan clutch. You will need those special tools to unscrew the fan clutch from the nose of the water pump. Once you release that nut and remove the clutch, all the bolts can be accessed.
