I went in for my 60000 mile maint. And was told I need new brakes and rotors on all four wheels. Reading some of the forum notes on the net there seems to be a lot of negative posts on ford rotors (made in China out of cheap metal) and will warp easy wont last more than 10-20K. The brake pads and rotors on their now are the original, so I did get 60K out of them. The bad thing is the rotors are worn down beyond turning and the pads have never been replaced. I just was asking how can the rotors wear out before the pads? And should I stick with OEM rotors and pads from the Ford dealer? Thanks

Eric,
That is odd. I have a 99 with 100K on it and the rotors are fine. Were you getting a pulsation when you use the brakes? Do you know how to use a micrometer to measure the rotors' thickness?

Let me know.
