[quote:3b45c29c16="Red34Rider"]I jacked the front of the truck up yesterday and put on jack stands. When I locked both hubs in and I turned either the left or right tire everything turned (ie the other wheel, axles, and driveshaft). I then would lock one hub and turn the wheels. The one locked would turn axle and drive shaft but the unlocked wheel would not turn. This worked on either side. The sound of locking and unlocking seems to be good as I can hear them click when operating the levers.
My question now could they still be worn enough that under power and friction it would give a different result than my little "test". What inside the hubs will need to be replaced. I have become a little gunshy about taking them apart because I have been told that they "fly" apart when unbolting the hubs and hard to figure out how to get back together.
Thanks again your advice and knowledge is much appreciated.

Well I've taken mine apart several times and nothing has come flying out of it. All you really have to do is unscrew the main piece that has the switch on it and pull it out, if a lot of metal flakes/dust that looks like graphite comes out then it needs replacing. But then again, if it doesn't it could be something deeper like alignment or something else. Let me know how it goes.
