you may need to replace the spindle if its damaged too badly. i would use a cut off wheel and gring off the old bearing if you have access to one. if not try a file and sand paper. **this is not uncommon and if neccessary take it to a local repair shop as we go this sort of thing all the time and in the long run may be cheaper than trying to do yourself but it certainly is do-able by yourself.
