Transmission problem
1999 Ford F150 V8 Two Wheel Drive Automatic 108K miles
While at 55-65 and climbing a hill, the transmission begins to shift from the highest gear to the lower one and vice versa. Several months ago noticed that the transmission position indicator at the steering wheel was misaligned with the corresponding gear position. The first time that happened, I changed the oil and filter but recently, it began to happen again. I would like to know what causes the problem, and if I can do the work, if the transmission does not need to take it down. Thanks.
