The dashboard temperature gauge on my F150 (82k miles, XL Series, with AC) has recently behaved oddly. When you spin the dial, it sometimes lacks "resistance" and doesn't seem to adjust properly. if you twist it back and forth a few times, it usually "grabs" and can be set to hold/cold/etc.
Does this sound like a gauge problem or something deeper? If it's just the temperature guage itself, do I need to replace the whole triple fan/temp/AC selection panel or just the one control? Thanks. FJP
