1998 Ford F150 4wd high and low noise

when i switch into 4wd high or low and start driving i begin to hear a loud whining noise once i hit 2,000 rpm. once i let off the gas it whines down, and when switching out of 4wd high it takes a while for it to disengage and i will continue to hear the whining noise until it finally disengages. any ideas would be greatly appreciated. thank you.

Have you checked the transfer case fluid? Is it full and clean? Also, check the front differential to make sure it is clean and tight.

yes sir both have been done. fluid is full and clean and differential is clean and tight. any ideas after that? thank you.
