Won't start- replaced starter

It would not start, but the battery was good. I replaced the starter and the solenoid on the firewall, but that did not fix the problem. The vehicle will start if I use a screwdriver to jump from the starter to the starter solenoid. I am assuming it may be an electrical issue. What can I do to fix this problem? Thank you for your help.

There are a couple things that this could be but the likely causes of this are a relay issue or more likely is the transmission range sensor.

Basically, what you are doing is bypassing the trigger wire and jumping power directly to the starter.

So, this means we have an issue with the control side of the starter.

We need to check power on the trigger wire and use the wiring diagram below to trace the power back through the system to find where we have it.

Basically, I would go to the TRS and crank the engine and see if you have power coming into the TRS. If you do, then the TRS is the issue.
