1994 Ford F150 I need help please

I just bought a 94 F150 pu, after driving it for awhile, I noticed a small amout of oil on the driveway. The next day I was driving home and looked in my rear view mirror and saw nothing but white smoke. I was close to home and when I turned down a side street the truck would rev up but not moving. So I though it was something to do with the transmission. When I got home and looked under the truck and saw oil running out from under the truck. It was coming from a rubber plug that is behind the oil pan. I went onto the Mitchel 1 site and tried to figure out what the plug was but was unable to figure it out. Can you please help me figure out what the plug is and how is it fixed.

Can you include a pic of the plug in question? I have a 95 F-150 and can not locate a rubber plug that would have anything to do with oil engine transmision or otherwise.

Ok that is the inspection plug for the torque convertor and flexplate. Now if oil is coming out that you either have a rear main seal or oil pan leak or the front pump seal on the transmission is leaking. Do you know for sure if it engine oil coming out of that or transmission oil?

I did somemore checking yesterday and I checked the oil and it showed full, I checked the transmission (I didn't start it to warm it up but the dip stick showed no fulid). Looking at what was pouring out it looked at first like engine oil but a closer exam it could be transmission fulid, it was darker and not the redish looking color that new transmission fulid has. Just before I made it home after it started leaking the transmission was slipping, the rpms incressed but had no vehicle movement.

Well the only fix is to pull the transmission and then pull the torque converter and replace the front seal. I would also do a service meaning pulling the transmission pan and replacing the filter and gasket and putting in new fluid. Read the dipstick as it tells you what fluid to use on the transmission. Let me know how it goes.
