1994 Ford F150 Fuse link

My blower motor will not work in any switch position, and there is no current to it at all. The fuse under the dash checks OK. The blower motor resistor was found bad (black terminal rusted and fried), and so the resistor is now replaced... but still no power to blower. Could a fuse link have blown as a result of the fried resistor or the reverse? I have looked for a fuse link in the wires around the blower motor, but don't see any. The orange and brown motor wires disappear into the back of the squirrel-cage. I've searched for online schematics of where any fuse links might be located but nothing yet. Any help would be appreciated... Thanks!

Are you getting power to the switch?

Hi. Thanks for your reply... I'm not sure- there's power to AC condensor/clutch on the other knob but nothing to the fan/blower. Should I check contacts at back of that switch?

That is where I would start. That way you will know which direction to work toward.

Ok, checked that- there is no power to the switch either. The same two brown and black wires that power the blower motor go into the switch, along with the 2 other wires that go into resistor (yellow, green, brown and black all go into resistor). Where does the system connect to common?

The ground is a black wire behind the left cowl panel

Ok, found that, and the blower fuse in the fuse box is ok, so the open line must be on the other side of the system. Can fuseable links be anywhere in that blower wiring harness? Like I said, the resistor had a burned-out terminal, so I'm suspecting there's a fuseable link that is also burned open... is there a standard location for those? Thank you.

There isn't a fuseable link for this component. It is fused. As far as the burnt wire and resister, that can be caused by a blower motor that is drawing too many amps. It isn't uncommon.

As far as the problem, you must have a damaged power wire to the switch. Have you checked them for continunity?

OK, thanks, that may have solved the problem. That made me get better at using the volt meter- there is power to the fuse box, then power at the motor, but none to the switch, yet the switch shows ground... so it looks to me like the motor itself is bad. I've ordered a new one and we'll see if thats the problem. Thanks!
