Should I pay someone to install the parts (pistons, rings, rod bearings, etc.) of an engine repair kit or purchase a rebuilt engine and have that installed?

I only drove the truck about 5k a year before blowing the rings in one of the cylinders. Basically, I have no compression in the 4th cylinder. Other than that, the truck is in decent shape.

I know either option is a major project but wanted some input from some of the resident experts.

Thanks in advance - Rob

If it has 140K on it, go with a reman engine. You will get a better warranty with it. Please keep in mind, in this particular case, this is my opinion based on past experience.
