1991 Ford F150 Battery Overcharging

1991 Ford F150 V8 199000 miles

Having replaced battery, selanoid. voltage regulator , alternator amd checked wiring harness water still coming out of battery and dashboard guage still registers extreme overcharging

I do not think you could get too much voltage from alternator....unless it gets by the REGULATOR!

Even though you have a new one, I believe your problem is there.

Use Voltmeter on battery, hook it up so you can watch it from the regulator.

You should not exceed 15 VOLTS

Either you have: A BAD REGULATOR GROUND, A BAD NEW REGULATOR---OR---

The crappy connector to the regulator is not making full contact with all of the connector surfaces.

STAY AWAY FROM THE FAN, BELTS, AND MOVING PARTS ! ! !

Wiggle, Jiggle, push for and aft on the connector and watch the VOLTMETER for changing below 15 VOLTS---While the engine is running.

If this is the case, clean your contacts or slightly bend the connectors so they make better contact with their mating surfaces.
