I just bought a 1987 Mustang GT with many modifications including:
306 keith craft racing motor, w/edelbrock upper and lower intake, full exhaust, larger TB and MAF, Canton 7qt oil pan, rebuilt t-5 trans, etc.
My questions are as follows. How much oil should an engine consume between changes? I am consuming about a quart every 1000-1500 miles and I use Mobil 1 5W30 synthetic.
Also, Sometimes my trans whines in 1st, 2nd, and 3rd gear, but the fluid is fine and the trans shifts great. Is there an issue with this?
Finally, there is a ticking at low RPMs coming from the passenger side of the engine. The engine doesn't burn or leak and oil, so I am unsure as to y it could be ticking. The oil level has always been fine.
Any help would be great.
