Is it possible that a voltage regulator can ruin a battery and if so is there a way to check the voltage regulator? It seems as though I have killed two batteries. If there is a way to check the voltage regulator can this be done through an auto parts store such as Kragen or Napa?

See my profile, Advance Auto or Autozone can, FOR SURE, check your problem [may help install too]...others may also have the capability.

If you have a VOLTMETER, you should have around 12 VOLTS DC when engine is not running, and NO MORE THAN 15 VOLTS DC when running!

If it exceeds this ---replace the regulator, insure the "Crappy Type" connector is making good contact.

AZ or ADV AU may be able to test your regulator also.

Send your good, inexpensive news back,

Love, Turddog
