Engine Cooling problem
1986 Ford F150 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Manual

Hello, My truck blew a head gasket and I changed it. The new gasket seems to be working fine. Now it is getting hot.
I took the thermostat out and replaced coolant and water but still getting hot. When I open the radiator cap, I can see water moving so, I assume the water pump is woking.
When I changed the head gasket I did not adjust the valves; I left them the way they were when I took the head off.
Could my not re-adjusting the valves make the engine hot or maybe airlock? Thank You.

You more than likely have an Airlock. One way to help get it out is to jack the front of the vehicle up getting tires off the ground. Run vehicle for a while carefull not to overheat serverely. Let cool and check coolant level. if low most likely airlock has been expelled. refill and see what happens.
