Engine Mechanical problem
1985 Ford F150 V8 Two Wheel Drive Automatic

I have a 1985 Ford F150, 302ci, Fuel Injected, 5.0L, 2WD. I need to replace a cracked exhaust manifold but the options for the replacement manifolds are either with or without exhaust control valve. I am not sure if I need one with and ECV or without one. Is this the same thing as an EGR valve?

ECV located where exhaust manifold hooks to pipe should be on right side and vacuum controled it deverts exhaust gas bak under intake to warm up and provide better fuel vaporazation during warm up. How about headers?

My engine is completely stock and I wish to keep it that way. Headers I am told will not give to much of a performance upgrade if the engine is stock. The ECV option is for the drivers side manifold. I was told it was only needed for older trucks but no one seems to know if my year, my model needs to have that valve.
