1959 Ford F150 wiring taillights brakelights and signals

wow...5 days and not a single answer or suggestion....thanks guys....I'll be sure to come back here with my next problem.........

i have tailights with only 2 wires coming from them
but I have three separate feeds coming in

1 for signals..... 1 for brake lights.... and 1 for running lights/licsense plate light
I can get any two of them working at once but not all 3... any combination i try shorts out the other light that i put it with

this is actually for a 1948 Ford panel van 12volt system if that matters at all...

I believe the fact that it is a '48 panel, not a '59 PU is significant. I do not believe they had turn signals in '48 and therefore they must have been added. I believe you will need to provide a separate light bulb for the signals (because connecting brake and signal together gives you a short). If you are restoring, and want to keep the original look, you will probably have to fabricate a socket to fit inside the existing fixture. Perhaps you can find or do something using the new LED lights. If restoring to original look is not an issue, you can merely add a separate light fixture. I hope this helps you. I'm working on a '59 Ford one ton and wish I had a wiring diagram for it.

thanks....but as I stated....I have signals lights already...but the old type switch that I have dosent allow for the brake lights to be wired into it......I added separate lights for the brakes and will purchase a newer switch so I can use all three together in the future....I guess if You dont make a "donation" with your question ...You dont deserve any help....thanks 2carpros.....I wont recommend or use this site again....go ahead and delete My profile because it seems that I cant do it myself.....thanks again....for NOTHING....!
