I have a 1998 Ford Explorer Sport, 2WD, 4.0L EFI with 108K miles on it. Recently it has been running rough and the code P0304 is present. I replaced the spark plug wire set and the spark plug again to that cylinder ( I had replaced all of the spark plugs just 2 or 3 months prior) the same code P0304 is still present. It's running rough still.

I've been told it could be the coil, crank sensor or that the fuel injector on that cylinder needs cleaning?
But, wouldn't the coil or sensor indicate both cylinders 1 & 4 are misfiring?

What can you tell me regarding this frustrating time?
I would really appreciate your help with this GREATLY!

Thank you,
lightman

I am inclined to go with the f/i cleaning. And it may need to be twice for that matter.

I would agree with your thinking on the coil.

I may be wrong, but would expect po300 (multiple)more so on the crank sensor or more than 1 cyl anyways.
