High beam lights constantly on

Ford Explorer Sport Trac, 1996,246,000 k's, 6cylinder. Highbeam lights stay on and also the indicator on the dash stays on even when motor is off and keys removed. Have checked fuses and relays but with no luck. Have had to disconnect battery. :cry: :)
