1994 Ford Explorer 4x4 sport: Where is the clutch master cylinder located, how can you tell if it is bad, and if bad, how do you replace it?
p.s. I recently changed the transmission and slave cylinder, at that time the clutch and pressure plate was in good condition and not in need of replacing. The vehicle (after 5,000 miles of driving on the new transmission) will not shift in or out of gears without forcing, and if in gear, pressing down on the clutch will not allow the car to roll freely. Just before the vehicle experienced this condition, it would whine in gears 1,2,3, and 5 when put in gear. This was the exact same symptoms that led me to replace the transmission in the first place. Besides the clutch master cylinder, what else could the problem be?
