Engine Performance problem
2004 Ford Explorer 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic

The vehicle has 104k miles. It started running a little sluggish so I changed spark plugs. It still ran sluggish and started basically shutting down once you surpass 3000rpms.I've had the coil pack and the catalytic converter checked and both were ok, but the problem still exist. Do you have any suggestions as to what the actual problem may be?

Throttle position sensor.

Ignition coil/Coil packs defective.
Incorrect ignition timing.
Cap and rotor.

Note:If it doesn't apply disregard it.
