2004 Ford Explorer brake bleeding

Did you disconnect any of the brake hoses? If not, they don't need bled. Did you adjust the rear brakes?

I did disconnect on the driver side front. then did not on the passenger side front. Once I learned there was bleeder valve. lots of fluid lost on the front left.
did not adjust back brakes.

Did the master cylender run dry when you were losieing fluid? Also, i you have rear drum brakes, you should adjust them to get a firm pedal. As far as the loss of fluid, you may have to bleed all the lines if the master cylender went dry. Let me know about that so I can explaine how to do it.

No the cylinder did not run dry. most of the fluid was out of the caliper. some did come out of the tube.

I had my son pump the pedal, I turned the bleed valve. then had him push to the floor. I then tightened the valve. I did this just last night. It did not work.

Okay, bear with me. When I picture what happened, that should have fixed it unless more air got into the system that we think. You may have to bleed all 4 wheels.

If you do, start at the RR, LR, RF, LF. Also, when you depressed the caliper, did you force the brake fluid back into the master cylender, or did you bleed the excess fluid at the caliper?

Also, I asked this before, but have you tried adjusting the rear brakes to help?
