I had to replace the right rear caliper, rotor and brake pads on my 2003 Ford Explorer, I bled the caliper and the brake system works as expected. The ABS light now stays on. I've read on this forum that this condition is common after replacing a caliper due to brake pressure loss. The advice from the forum suggests going to Autozone to have them clear the DTC's in the computer. I have an OBD2 code reader, but there are no DTC's detected. Autozone tells me that OBD2 code readers will not detect ABS faults, and the ABS computer merely needs to be reset. They say there is a "reboot" sequence for the ABS computer specific to the manufacturer. Whatever the cause, I would appreciate any thoughts. Thanks for taking the time to read this.[/b]
