Oil gauge is acting funny, it will be fine and then sometimes it just goes to nothing but the motor sounds and runs fine.

usually on the block semi close to where the oil filter is located it will look partially like a spark plug with a wire on top. If may also be leaking motor oil if no good.

It should be near the oil filter. If you can't find it, let me know and I'll try to find a picture.

it's under the hood, lower engine area, above oil filter, mounted in lower driver side of engine block. Here is a picture of it. THe picture is for a car that has a gauge. If you only have a light, it looks very similar, but has some minor differences. Let me know if this helps.

My Oil gage keeps bouncing up and down when I am stopped or the rpm drop below 1000. I have been told that the oil sensor/sending unit might be bad. I could not locate it. Any ideas?

it could be the sign of a possible failure of the sending unit or a loose wire, but most likely the pump is going, i would take it in and have the oil pressure tested to make sure everything is functioning properly
