oil sending unit, where is it?

Hello,

The oil pressure switch at left side of engine block. Check out the diagrams (Below). Please let us know if you need anything else to get the problem fixed.

2002 Ford Explorer mileage: 45,000. Where is the oil sending unit located on this model?

The oil pressure-sending unit should be next to the oil filter.

I am looking for a detail diagram as to where I can locate the oil pressure switch, can you help me with this. it is a 6 cylinder motor. I bought the part because I am get erratic readings on the gauge now I have no idea as to where it goes, is it next to the oil filter and if so, where?

What liter engine ?

is that a 4.0?

I do believe it is a 4.0 engine

ok all i can find right now is this. it's right by/behind power steering pump. hope it helps

Oil pressure sticks with cold start,after a few seconds it jumps up to normal.

if you see blank image(thumb)click anyway it should pop. my internet glitched on me.

The engine oil pressure switch is located on the engine next to the power steering pump-see below

Where is the oil sending unit on a 2001 Ford Explorer with the v6 OHC?

I know it needs replacing, but can't locate it.

Does anyone have any idea on where this is located?

usually on the block semi close to where the oil filter is located it will look partially like a spark plug with a wire on top. If may also be leaking motor oil if no good.

ok we found it and we bought a new one but they sold us the wrong one. we have no clue exactly what one we need...

If its a 302CID/5.0L engine its located next to the power steering pump and its not a difficult job to do.

Where is the Oil Pressure Sensor Sending Unit located on 1996 Ford Explorer?

it's under the hood, lower engine area, above oil filter, mounted in lower driver side of engine block. Here is a picture of it. THe picture is for a car that has a gauge. If you only have a light, it looks very similar, but has some minor differences. Let me know if this helps.

* 3.0L engine-top front of the engine, on the intake manifold
* 2.9L and 4.0L engine-top left front of the engine, on the intake manifold
* 4.0L SOHC engine-top front of the engine, on the intake manifold
* 5.0L engine-top front of the engine, on the left-hand side of the camshaft synchronizer.

Its on the engine

My Oil gage keeps bouncing up and down when I am stopped or the rpm drop below 1000. I have been told that the oil sensor/sending unit might be bad. I could not locate it. Any ideas?

it could be the sign of a possible failure of the sending unit or a loose wire, but most likely the pump is going, i would take it in and have the oil pressure tested to make sure everything is functioning properly
