For about 6 months now my 4x4 hi and low lights will flash 3-6 times about every 2-3 minutes and the control buttons for the 4x4 auto, hi, and low are unresponsive. What leads me to think its electrical and not mechanical is my indicator lights on the dash go a little haywire randomly. I get the door ajar light randomly as well as the air bag light. Also very rairly my windows will become temporairily unresponsive and random times. There has also been a shutter noise heard from the rear of the vehicle with suttle shaking that occurs when driving, this is also rair and random. All these problems started when the 4x4 lights started to blink. I have read alot on forums about probable causes such as speed sensors, control module, transfer case, and electrical sensors going bad. Is there one component that could go bad and cause all these events to happen?

Hi bigmess,

Thank you for the donation.

You are correct in suspecting the problem to be electrical. I would diagnose it as having a bad ground connection some where and the most likely grounding point is at the right side of A pillar ( near driver side kick panel.

As to the door ajar indicator light, it cpoould be something different. Check if door are out of adjustment.

I would suggest getting a scan done to retrieve for trouble codes to see if there are any trouble codes stored in the Power Control Module regarding the blinking lights.
