2002 Ford Explorer Air Bag light blinking

When i start the car the air bag light blinks in a cycle of 3 blinks, a pause, then 4 blinks. After several cycles the light comes on and stays on. I would like to know what the problem may be before I take it to be repaired.

Acually, the computer will need scanned to identify where the problem is coming from. What to do is take it to a nationally recognized parts store and have them scan the computer. Most will do it for free so there is no money out of pocket for you. Ask for the code they find and let me know so I can better direct you.

NOTE: If the light is on, the air bag will most likely not work.
