I was wondering if the following indicates a bad right or left rear wheel bearing:

@ 55+mph a loud oscillating vibration occurs. The noise is comming from the rear. And from what I can tell its the passenger side wheel.

another point to note is when i make a slow left turn (on the highway) the noise is unmisteakably louder, and the noise goes away when turning right (again on the highway).

Does that make it clear-cut that it's the passenger side? Or might it be the driver's side??? Are there any simple tests to check if the bearing is bad?

I was told which ever side you turn to and the noise is made, the opposite side is the bad bearing. Any help would be appreciated!!!

what you state last is true, noise on passanger side when turning that way drivers is usually bad.

to check jack up the vehicle and wiggle the top and bottom of the tire, push the top toward the other rear tire and pull the bottom away from it, then pull the top and push the bottom, if play is noted theres a bad bearing.
