I can not get into park unless I crawl under and do it manually. I adjusted the shift cable but it did not work. Can I adjust the selector lever itself or do I need to replace the shift cable? I currently can go from R to 2nd.

Mine will currently go into reverse and thats it we have to crawl under it and do it manually for park drive 2nd and 1st. my shift cable has been adujusted several times and has been replaced four different times. We tried to order a new one jus a few days ago and every company we call has told us that the cables are now obsalete around the country! We now have one off a 2002 explorer and the end swivels back and forth. This is supose to help it have some slack and not break as easy. I sure do hope it works. But as of right now it isnt workin out for us. In my own oppion i would not recommend an explorer for anyone. We have also replace the transmission three different times!
