Midas showed me where the pinion seals are leaking. I have obvious tracking problems which is why I had them check the front end while getting their $20.00 special. We are retired and "dirt pore". We just bought the vehicle five months ago. Should this have been caught in a safety check? What is your estimate of what this should cost to repair? Is is worth it?

A leaking pinion seal is not a difficult or expensive repair. Unless it is dripping, it is not even a cause for concern. It also would have nothing to do with a tracking problem.

Also keep in mind that "specials" are to bring in cars to SELL something to! Those mechanics work on commision, and have a vested interest in selling repair work.
