It started about three months ago. When the tank got below 1/4 tank it would stall. I could get it restarted but I had to keep the RPM up to 2000. I would have to keep the rpm up or it would stall if i had to stop or go around a corner. It was fine as long as i kept it over a 1/4 tank and then it started doing it at 1/2 a tank. I also notice it did it if i parked at a slight forward downward decline. I changed the fuel filter and it did not fix the problem. It recently did it at a full tank (so I’m at the top of the barrel with nowhere to go). I believe it is bad on gas mileage but that could be because it is a ford explorer. I know it’s not bad gas because because I put premium and also full system cleaner trying to clean the injectors. I did get a batch of bad gas once, but it went 4 months without a problem after that. In the summer it was making this loud howling sound, when i applied the gas the howling quit. I have not heard the sound since fall, I changed the air filter it still did it. It just went away though, I do not know if these problems are connected in any way.
